Army Continuing Education System - "Separation or Retirement of Soldiers": Participation in the 9/11 Post Office Briefing is "mandatory" within 180 days of being processed for separation or retirement. AR 621-5, paragraph 7-2(r) and US law ( 10 USC 1142. Separation of Soldiers and/or resignation is documented under your personal account on the GoArmyEd portal.

Note: Briefings are on a first-come, first-served basis with limited seating. Spouses and family are welcome. Soldiers are entitled to attend the briefing multiple times and are encouraged to attend again when there are changes to the benefits offered.

This test is located at the National Test Center BLDG 4011A. Contact us for more information; scheduling is done online and test referrals are required. Fees may apply for these exams.

Online Colleges For Military Service Members And Veterans

You must first meet with a test referral counselor to schedule. You must present a DA 4187 approved by the company commander and a copy of the ERB/ORB as required by HQ ACES and APT.

ALL staff must be in uniform on the day of testing for APT exams (DLPT included). Walk Ins are not allowed due to pre-registration requirements.

DLPT tests are 6 hours long and are administered in two 3-hour blocks. 0800 (listening) and 1200 (reading) with a break of one hour between the two sections; check with your counselor or test proctor for the test schedule and next test date. Students may take only one exam per testing session.

The Army Tuition Assistance Program pays 100 percent of a soldier's tuition up to established DOD caps each year. Schools must be regionally or nationally accredited. TA pays for associate's, bachelor's and master's degrees and one certificate. Soldiers must apply for benefits through the GoArmyEd portal at www.goarmyed.com.

The five ACES partner schools include Elizabethtown Community and Technical College, Western Kentucky University, University of Louisville, Sullivan University and Central Texas College. ACES has its offices and staff at Building 65 in the Horen Education Center. Attendance at the College is open to everyone.

For Non-Traditional Educational Assistance, the Defense Performance Testing Program provides Soldiers with free multi-credit tests. Tests are administered through the National Testing Center at the University of Louisville office, and test results are available immediately. For more information, call (502) 942-8060.

The Army Education Center administers the Army Personnel Testing Program and offers the AFCT, DLPT, DLAB, and other military tests. The Education Center also offers college entrance exams such as the SAT and ACT, as well as Pearson VUE certification exams. The Army Studies Center, in Building 65, is an 18-classroom facility for military and civilian training during the day and college classes at night.

The Army Green to Gold active duty option program allows you to earn a national service rank and commission. The Green to Gold program is a two-year program that allows qualified active duty soldiers to complete a bachelor's degree or two-year doctoral degree and earn a commission as an Army officer.

The Army Medical Department (AMEDD) Commission Program allows eligible Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard, or Active Guard Reserve (AGR) Army Soldiers to complete a bachelor's degree in nursing and earn a commission on Active Duty. a component of the Army Nurse Corps (ANC).

Army Tuition Aid Stalled By Monthslong Tech Glitch Puts Soldiers' Futures On Hold

The Basic Proficiency Enhancement Program (BSEP) (formerly known as FAST) is a commander's basic guard training program. The BSEP is a refresher course that includes math and English that soldiers take to increase their GT score when they return for the Armed Forces Classification Test (AFCT).

The Army's Credential Assistance (CA) program increases the Army's competitiveness by helping Soldiers achieve industry-recognized credentials. Funding is provided for voluntary self-paced courses and/or exams, a recognized academic or professional credential in the field listed on the Army COOL website.

Financial assistance is provided to Soldiers who are over or ineligible for Joint Services Tuition Assistance (TA) or who need additional funds for books and application fees. Tutors can offer a number of options to finance your education. Some options include the 9/11 GI Bill, MyCAA and FAFSA.

Area IV guidance counselors provide counseling services to active duty soldiers and their family members in Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) educational programs. Spouses and family members may also be entitled to education and training. These programs include the Montgomery GI Bill, the 9/11 GI Bill, the VA Yellow Ribbon Program, and the VA Top-Up Program.

Area IV Education Centers at Camp Henry and Camp Carroll operate Multi-Functional Learning Facilities (MLF). The MLF is a technology-based facility that provides Soldiers with training, education and support materials to develop/maintain job-related and leadership skills.
